Pyrrhon: An excellent servant but a terrible master

13/10/11  ||  Smalley

The songwriting on “An excellent servant but a terrible master”, or “AESBaTM” as I’ve taken to call it (not really), is as messy as its long-ass title, with songs that drone on forever with aimless, schizophrenic, momentum-sapping tangents, and even the instrumental performances sound like they’re out of sync with each other. The rhythm guitar sound isn’t really lacking, but you still won’t remember a single good riff on this one. Know why? Because there are no good riffs. Makes sense, don’t it? And get this, “servant” actually has a NINETY percent average on Metallum based off two different reviews; that’s some thorough bribe-action you got there Pyrrhon, think you could give me a taste?

4/10: I don’t really know which sub-genre I would say this falls into, unless you count the genre of Being Not-Good. Which I do.
